Anne and Jon married on a sunny, summer day in June. Their elegant South Carolina wedding took place at the South Carolina State House in Columbia, SC. It was absolutely gorgeous! The historic building and grand architecture provided the most stunning, elegant backdrop for their wedding portraits. This location also holds significance and sentimental meaning, as Anne and Jon went on a tour of The State House for their first date. I love that whenever they look back on their wedding day images they will not only remember the memories and joy of this moment, but also be transported back to that first meeting where it all began!
Their Love Story
Anne and Jon met at Bob Jones University. However, they were actually in completely different degree areas, as Jon majored in actuarial science and Anne studied music. Their paths crossed when they met in the symphony orchestra during their junior year. Later, they ended up in the same elective class and got to know each other even more. By the time graduation rolled around, they were a couple and have been together ever since.
It comes at no surprise that Anne loves music since that was her major! She is an amazing cello player and had her cello there as she got ready. I surprised her with a few images of her cello with her wedding dress, which she loved! Macarons are also one of her favorites and even decorated their wedding cake! Knowing that, I made sure to include a couple macarons in the wedding detail pictures.
Elegant South Carolina Wedding
Anne carried the most beautiful bridal bouquet of cream, peach, and dusty pink flowers with the slightest pop of blue and accents of greenery. The elegant arrangement gave off light and airy, summer vibes. The soft colors of the bouquets looked stunning against the bridesmaids’ coral dresses.
After capturing all their gorgeous portraits, we headed to the wedding ceremony at Grace Baptist Church. Anne’s father is a pastor at this church, so it was extra special to have their wedding ceremony take place here. Once the couple said “I do” everyone moved into the reception space, which featured mason jars holding flowers from Anne’s grandmother’s garden. To end their elegant wedding day, guests celebrated the newlyweds with a grand send off! Confetti showered down as everyone cheered and they made their way to their getaway car.
Anne and Jon, your wedding day was beautiful and I am so thankful to have been a part of it. I wish you both a lifetime of love and happiness!
