Cozy In-Home Newborn Session | Houston Family Photographer

Capturing baby Mia’s cozy in-home newborn and lifestyle session was such an honor. The Hendricks family has been close friends of mine for years, so being able to document this special time in their lives felt extra meaningful. Both Kelsie and Tyler are incredibly talented photographers themselves, but more importantly, they are adoring parents to their two sweet girls. When my husband, David, and I found out they were expecting their beautiful baby girl, Mia, I knew I had to find a way to meet her before we made our move to South Carolina.

There’s something so special about photographing people you hold dear, and Mia is the most precious baby girl. She stayed awake for most of the session and was perfectly content being cradled in the loving arms of her parents. It was beautiful to witness the natural connection between this new family, and it made my job as a photographer so easy.

We explored their beautiful home, capturing family portraits in different meaningful areas. My favorite, by far, was Mia’s nursery. You could tell how much love and attention had been poured into the room. The ombre pink wall was simply stunning! Mia’s nursery was the perfect backdrop for her portraits.

Cozy In-Home Newborn and Lifestyle Session

After spending time in the nursery, we moved to their cozy living room. One of my favorite parts of the session was when Tyler grabbed his guitar and began playing worship music. It created such a peaceful and intimate atmosphere, with Kelsie swaying gently to the music as she held Mia. Afterwards, the family dogs also joined in and the whole family sat together on the couch.

As the session came to a close, we moved to their bedroom, where the family gathered on the bed for some final snuggles. There’s something so timeless about capturing families in their most intimate spaces, and this was no exception. The way they held each other, laughed, and simply soaked up being together created such a beautiful end to our time together.

This session was more than just a photoshoot—it was a reflection of love, friendship, and the beauty of life’s newest chapter. I was incredibly grateful to be welcomed into their home, not just as a photographer, but as a friend. Being able to capture these tender moments for them, while listening to worship music and sharing in the joy of their growing family, became a core memory I’ll cherish forever.

Seeing Kelsie and Tyler step into parenthood with such grace and love warmed my heart in ways I can’t fully express. Congratulations to the Hendricks family on their sweet baby girl, Mia.
