Haley and Michael are a charming couple with such chemistry. We had the absolute best time capturing their Furman University Engagement Session in Greenville, SC. From the moment I met them, I could tell they weren’t just in love; they were truly in sync. The way they laugh together, look at each other, and move through the world side by side, it was like watching a romance novel come to life!
Furman University Engagement Session
When we first started planning their engagement session, they knew they wanted to be photographed at their college campus at Furman University where their love story started. I love that they chose to have their engagement session here, because now when they look back on their engagement photos it will bring back memories from how they first met to falling in love. Being able to document this chapter of their journey in a place that holds so many memories made the session even more meaningful.
One of the other things we discussed during our conversations was how to include their shared love for The Lord of the Rings, (LOTR) and all things fantasy and classic romance. We included a few classic books into the shoot, and as they sat under a giant oak tree looking at books together, and walking along the stunning university grounds in full bloom, it really did feel like we stepped into a fairytale romance.
Romantic Spring Session
We also spent part of our spring afternoon exploring the Japanese Garden at Furman University, which was the perfect backdrop. The pink spring blooms were on full, gorgeous display, and the light filtering through the trees was so romantic. Then, there was the water and the cute little bridge-it was all so perfect!
One of my favorite parts of their session was the playful sword fight we captured (yes, you read that right!). Haley teaches fencing, so we couldn’t resist incorporating that into the shoot. We even used her sword for some unique, meaningful ring shots. This all tied into their engagement session so well, capturing their shared love for adventure, fantasy, and each other.
