Keren’s PhD graduation session in Columbia, SC at the University of South Carolina was the perfect blend of academic achievement, heartfelt gratitude, and timeless Southern charm. This session was truly one to remember as we were celebrating such a significant milestone of Keren earning her Doctor of Philosophy in Health Promotion, Education, and Behavior in December 2025. As a Columbia, SC graduation photographer, I love capturing achievements like this! After years of hard work, this is a milestone that deserves to be documented!

University of South Carolina Graduation Photos

From the very beginning, Keren shared how important it was for her to include her parents in this moment. As the first in her family to go to college, she feels indebted to her amazing family for helping her pursue her dreams! Keren’s journey has been one of perseverance, dedication, and deep appreciation for the support system that helped her along the way. I always encourage my seniors and graduates to bring along parents, siblings, and even pets to join you at your grad session for extra love and moral support. Parents especially, because these milestones are never achieved alone and they deserve to be celebrated together.

Keren’s PhD Session in Columbia, SC

We began her session at the iconic reflection pond near Thomas Cooper Library. Here the soft light and classic campus architecture created the perfect backdrop. From there, we made our way to Longstreet Theatre. One of my favorite parts of Keren’s University of South Carolina graduation photos was visiting the places that shaped her daily life and where she spent a lot of her time on campus, like the Discovery 1 Building and the Public Health Research Center. These locations added such a personal touch, telling the story of her years of hard work and dedication.

Cap and Gown Photos

Throughout the session, she wore her cap and gown, which looked so good. She wore her various cords and awards around her neck, as we wanted to celebrate all of her achievements! We even included a few shots of her on the stairs of a campus building with all of her framed degrees and awards surrounding her.

Of course, no USC gradation photo session would be complete without a visit to pay our respects to Cocky the Gamecock! And in true South Carolina fashion, we made sure to include some photos with the iconic palm trees. As a fellow Texas girl like me, Keren wanted to make sure they were included in the photos as well.

Keren’s session was more than just graduation photos. It was a celebration of legacy, family, and faithfulness through every season of her journey. Congratulations, Dr. Keren Herrán! Your story is inspiring, and it was such an honor to capture this incredible achievement.
