There is truly nothing like bluebonnet season in Texas! It is so beautiful, and as a Houston, Texas wedding photographer, I look forward to this time every single spring. The rolling fields of vibrant blue, the soft golden sunsets, and the unmistakable feeling of fresh beginnings make it one of the most magical times of year for engagement sessions.
Texas Blue Bonnet Engagement Session
Ryan and Marissa’s Texas bluebonnet engagement session in Brenham, TX was absolutely perfect from start to finish. We planned their session during peak bluebonnet season, which typically falls between late March and early April in areas like Brenham, Chapel Hill, and the greater Houston region. The fields were bursting with color, and the blooms seemed endless, which made for the most picturesque setting.
From the moment we started, everything felt effortless and romantic. The light was soft and dreamy, and Ryan and Marissa chose outfits that complemented the natural beauty around them so beautifully. As we wandered through the bluebonnet fields, you could smell their floral scent and it smelled so good! There is something so peaceful about being surrounded by wildflowers as far as the eye can see.
As the evening unfolded, we caught the most perfect Texas sunset. It was one of those sessions where everything aligned: the light, the weather, and the love between two people.
Downtown Chapel Hill Texas
We also made our way into downtown Chapel Hill, a landmark in this area of Texas, where we took some more casual engagement photos. Many families and couples visit this area every year during bluebonnet season, and it added such a sweet and relaxed feel to their gallery. I’ve even photographed family sessions nearby at First Baptist Church of Chapel Hill, and other beautiful locations in Houston where the bluebonnets are in full bloom during the spring.
Sessions like this are why I love what I do. The combination of a stunning location, a gorgeous season, and a couple in love creates something truly timeless and memorable.
