Our Love Story | Three Year Marriage Recap by a Greenville, SC Wedding Photographer

I cannot believe it’s been three years of marriage for David and I! Just yesterday we had started dating, got engaged and danced on our wedding day. Our bliss-filled engagement season, breathtaking wedding, and relaxing honeymoon were some of the most beautiful seasons for us! Our marriage gets sweeter with each passing day and I am just thrilled to pieces to do life with my best friend!

I wanted to take some time and share about the riveting three years David and I have had as a married couple. Our love grows deeper every second we are together. I find myself catching my breath every time I look at him – in the car, in the kitchen, in the tender whispers of moonlight. Being married is indescribably magical in it’s essence. No matter what each day brings, the one constant is Christ, but also knowing that we have each other to have and to hold. I have learned to cherish David deeper than anyone I have ever known. What an immense blessing!

Let’s recap on our eventful marriage

First, David and I met on an online dating app. I have the LORD and my roommates to thank for convincing me to make a profile so that I could swipe on him! Within 3 minutes of my profile going live, David found me FIRST! When I finally came to his profile, I swiped and gasped with half amazement and bewilderment when we were an instant MATCH!! I was afraid to use a dating app in fear of “forcing God’s hand”, but the Lord knew precisely what he was doing! This was April of 2020, so all of our first dates were mostly outdoors and at my parents house, ironically! We both dressed to the 9’s for our first date and I think it solidified our attraction towards each other! From then on we were inseparable for THREE WEEKS.

On January 19th 2021, the man of my dreams asked me to marry him! David had an elaborate proposal planned in Herman Park in Houston, and I couldn’t have dreamed it up better. He had a picnic basket filled to the brim with memories and sweet mementos from our months of dating. The sun was as bright as our love for each other that blissful day! I am so blessed to have a man as sentimental as David.

Our Wedding Day

Our wedding was everything we dreamed it would be. I dawned the vintage style wedding gown of my dreams and we were surrounded by everyone we love most. I walked down the aisle teary eyed to one of my favorite songs, “I See The Light” from Tangled. Our wedding was on a sunny day at Ashton Gardens in my home town of Houston, TX. I had seen many friends of the family get married at that venue, so I was elated to hear that they had an opening for our date! May 28th, 2021. We were meet to marry in 13 months.

Honeymoon and A Cross-Country Move

Afterwards, our Honeymoon was seven days in Gatlinburg, TN and three days in Greenville, SC. We stayed in a cozy cabin and explored hiking trails, Dollywood (the cinnamon bread was our favorite part! haha). We even soared to the top of the mountains on a gondola ride. We also bought our first painting for our home on this trip that we have hanging in our living room. David gave me a sweet taste of what life in Greenville was like before we decided to make the move up here. We were so incredibly relaxed and in love on our honeymoon and we STILL ARE three years later. David’s Dad made the comment, “The Honeymoon doesn’t ever end until you decide it does!” We have held fast to that truth our entire marriage thus far – embracing whatever has come our way.

Fast forward to our move to Greenville, Sc in February of 2022. We were SO excited for our move. It was a big change, yes, but it was the right move for sure. Two and a half years later and we are loviinggggg it in the Upstate of SC. For our three year anniversary trip, we decided to recreate our honeymoon! We spent two blissful days in Gatlinburg and two days in Asheville relaxing and enjoying the beauty of the Mountains! We even got to see Dolly Parton in the FLESH at Dollywood!

David, There is no one else in the world who I enjoy walking through life with than you. Thank you for making everyday like our honeymoon. I feel cherished an adored by you every second. Happy Three Year Anniversary Dearest Love.

Love, Sarah
