When I think of a quintessential light and airy Texas wedding with a country twist, Hannah and Joey’s special day is exactly what comes to mind. Their classic East Texas wedding was a beautiful and romantic day filled with sweet, sentimental touches.
Having met these two last year at Meredith and Jacob’s stunning winter wedding in Texas, it felt surreal and so special to have the honor of capturing their own love story almost a year later after first meeting. I photographed their engagement session at the blooming Tyler Rose Garden back in the heat of Texas last summer. See their gorgeous engagement session here! Their warm and sun-drenched engagement session was the perfect contrast to their autumn wedding day in November. The weather was perfect with a light breeze and beautiful light streaming through the clouds. We were treated to a stunning Texas sunset that evening as well making this a perfect fall wedding day
Classic East Texas Wedding Day Full of Sentimental Details
The day was filled with incredibly touching moments that stood out and made this wedding so memorable. Of course, the live orchestra playing as Hannah walked down the aisle was breathtaking, and her first look with her dad and bridal party was touching, but there were so many thoughtful details that truly told their love story. One of my favorites? Each table number featured photos of the couple at that same age, a beautiful way to showcase their journey through life leading up to this moment. Another tear-jerking moment was Hannah’s recorded message playing just before she walked down the aisle—her heartfelt words of love and anticipation had everyone wiping away tears.
Then there was their intimate first touch and private vow reading. Instead of a first look, Hannah and Joey chose to hold hands around a doorframe, sharing a quiet moment before the ceremony. The emotion in that moment was overwhelming and filled me with tears. You could just feel the deep love and excitement between them.
After their dreamy golden-hour portraits, Hannah and Joey shared a private dinner together before joining the reception. This was such a unique and special touch—I absolutely loved that they took time to soak in the first few moments of marriage alone before the party started!
Speaking of their reception–it was a full-on celebration! Guests danced the night away with glow sticks and light-up cowboy hats while jamming with the DJ. A candy bar added a fun, nostalgic touch. Then, to end the night, Katy Perry’s song Firework played as the newlyweds made their way to a vintage Mustang getaway car. It was the perfect ending to an unforgettable night!
