I have a story for you guys, and it’s a good one! A few months ago, I joined my sweet friend Nicole Lauren Photography’s Mastermind Group. What an amazing, fun, and fruitful experience it turned out to be. This group was filled with such uniquely talented women, each running their own creative businesses with heart and purpose. The mastermind created such a supportive environment where we could all learn from each other, collaborate, and grow, not just in our businesses, but in our confidence and creativity, too.
Fast forward to early June, and we all packed our bags and headed to charming Charleston, South Carolina for a creative retreat! The trip was full of intentional conversations, delicious food, updated headshots, and memories I’ll treasure for a long time. However, without a doubt, my favorite parts of the weekend were the Charleston styled shoot and our magical sunset boat ride. Both were SO much fun.
The Charleston Styled Shoot
Let’s talk about the styled shoot, which was a dream! We started by capturing images at our Charleston Airbnb. For the first look, our lovely model, Kate, wore her mother’s strapless wedding gown, which made for such a sentimental and sweet detail that I adored. It fit her perfectly and added such a timeless, heirloom touch to the whole shoot.
Later, we headed to a few spots around Downtown Charleston to take advantage of the historic charm and architecture. Kate did an absolutely beautiful job styling the second gown provided by New York Bride and Groom of Charlotte. Her second look gave off all the Sophia Richie bridal vibes. To complete the details, Diamonds Direct in Charleston graciously gifted the rings for our shoot, adding an extra sparkle to Kate’s already glowing presence.

So Much Gratitude
Thank you, Kate, our amazing model, for taking time out of your summer break to spend the afternoon with us and for following the instructions of countless photographers all at once. You delivered on your promise and were such a joy to work with.
Nichole, thank you from the bottom of my heart for creating this mastermind and organizing such a meaningful, fun, and truly impactful experience. From the laughter at dinner to the shared creative energy during our styled shoot, this trip reminded me how powerful it is when women in business come together, not to compete, but to cheer each other on and collaborate.
The entire experience was so much fun and very needed. Thank you for giving not only me, but each woman in this small business team the chance to work together and glean from one another in the mastermind. I left Charleston feeling inspired, creatively recharged, and incredibly thankful to be a part of such a supportive community.
To all my Photographer friends, if you’re considering joining a mastermind or stepping out of your comfort zone into something new, do it! It is so worth it!
