Charleston Beach Family Session

Capturing the Johnson’s Charleston beach family session was pure joy. This beautiful extended family traveled from all over the U.S. to gather together on the beautiful beaches of Kiawah Island to relax and create these treasured memories. The beach house they stayed at on the island was mere minutes from the beach. However, this family trip almost didn’t happen last summer due to a brewing hurricane moving up to the eastern coastline from Florida. Thankfully, God had other plans! Looking at these photos you would have no clue that a storm had come though the area.

Tammy reached out to me while they were planning their trip and asked about how I felt about doing an extended family session to create lasting memories from their trip. I wholeheartedly obliged! Extended family sessions are some of my favorites because there are endless groupings – siblings, the OG family before spouses and kids, all the girls in the family together, and of course, you cannot forget where it all started with mom and dad. On top of all that, the memories captured are priceless. Times together like these are rare and precious, especially when you live spread out across the states. It makes capturing moments like these even more special and important.

Tammy and Mike along with the entire Johnson family had an infectious energy about them that made my job extra fun! The fact that everyone traveled to be together, some as far as Texas, tells you how important family is to them. I loved watching these grandparents interact with their grandchildren and laugh with their adult children. Generational photos are my absolute favorite. I know how much these photos will be cherished in the years to come.
