Classic Black and White Wedding

Hannah and Cal’s classic black and white wedding at the legendary Ashton Gardens in Houston, Texas was exactly what I needed back in July. After their timeless Rice University engagement session that you can view HERE, I got to see the tender love and care they have for one another on the big day. They were so sweet to each other and their chemistry was undeniable. Being at Ashton Gardens was a surreal feeling as David and I were married at this exact venue 3 years prior. I will always love visiting the place where it all began for us.

As the couple got ready, I captured their timeless wedding details. The white flower bouquets looked stunning with the black bridesmaids’ dresses. You can never go wrong with a classic black and white color palette – everything is clean, elegant, and timeless.

Before the ceremony, Hannah shared a first look with her dad that was incredibly touching. They were both moved to tears and it was such a priceless moment. After wiping away their tears, Hannah and her dad prepared to walk down the aisle. The Ceremony was breathtaking in the epic glass chapel at Ashton Gardens. The windows provided tons of natural light that created this ethereal setting that was perfect. Capturing a wedding in a venue like Ashton Gardens never gets old.

The look on Cal’s face when his bride walked down the aisle was bright with wonder as he gazed down at her. Both of them embraced family members before stepping up to the altar. They also lit a unity candle to symbolize two becoming one with the Lord at the center. Afterwards, the couple were pronounced husband and wife and they made their exit from the ceremony and we went on to capture their stunning newlywed portraits around the venue.

Ashton Gardens Reception

The reception took place in the beautiful ballroom which offers breathtaking views through full-length windows. Again, all the windows allowed for natural light to pour in creating a light and airy atmosphere. The newlyweds descended down the spiral staircase into the ballroom and were met with cheers. The reception was over the top fun and even a little rowdy! There were fun lights, a conga line or two, and even a few high jumps. More than anything, however, there was an overflow of love, joy, and laughter as everyone came together to celebrate the newlyweds. As the night came to a close, Hannah and Cal were treated to a sparkler send off as they made their getaway in a lovely white Bentley.

It was such a memorable night and I am so thrilled to have been a part of their magical wedding day!
