The Cliffs at Glassy Chapel Wedding | Greenville, SC Wedding Photographer

Deanna and Michael’s Romantic Mountain Wedding in Greenville, South Carolina at The Cliffs at Glassy Chapel wedding was one of the most heartfelt and intimate celebrations I’ve had the honor of capturing. Nestled high in the Blue Ridge Mountains, this iconic chapel is known for its breathtaking views. On this particular December day, the mountains were wrapped in a soft blanket of fog, making everything feel even more sacred and intimate. Love was in their air all around and everything felt even more sacred and intimate.

While I don’t often photograph winter weddings, this one was incredibly special. I only take on one Christmas wedding each year, and I am so glad Deanna and Michael’s day was the one I captured. Their winter wedding day was so intimate and intentional. It was focused on their love, faith, and the covenant they were entering into together. This resulted in a wedding day that was incredibly heartwarming.

Their Story

Deanna and Michael’s story began when Michael worked at Cross Rails Ministries, a nonprofit that builds relationships and creates space for God’s healing and hope by connecting those who are hurting with rescued horses.  Deanna visited the farm with her daughter to ride. Michael asked her out while at the farm.  Michael felt called into ministry after giving his life to Christ, and together, he and Deanna have built a relationship centered on the Lord. Their story is so touching and covered in their love for the Lord.

The morning of the wedding was filled with warmth and anticipation as Deanna and her daughter got ready with family at Michael’s uncle’s home in The Cliffs neighborhood before heading up to the chapel. While getting ready, they enjoyed a special time with close friends and family before walking down the aisle. Deanna’s dress was stunning with lace detail and a fur shawl for portraits outside. Her wedding bouquet was both festive and elegant with bright red roses surrounded by sprigs of soft pine.

The Cliffs at Glassy Chapel Wedding Ceremony

Perched on the edge of Glassy Mountain, The Cliffs at Glassy Chapel is one of the most breathtaking ceremony spaces.  The views are unreal! Even with the fog that morning, it was still a stunning and awe-inspiring sight. The glass-enclosed chapel allows you to take in the views surrounding Blue Ridge Mountains while inside. Deanna and Michael’s ceremony at the chapel was beautiful in every way.

God was indeed glorified during their union as they not only tied the braid of three strands, symbolizing God at the center of their marriage, but also took communion. One of my favorite moments included the live music by their friends of Gale Bird, who serenaded them with a new song they wrote for this blessed occasion. Then, Deanna’s very sweet daughter walked down the aisle ahead of her mother, beaming with pride and smiling from ear-to-ear. It was one of the most touching moments of the entire day.  As the ceremony concluded, a Shofar, a traditional Jewish ritual horn, was also blown in celebration and worship to the Lord before the weft of the chapel.

Afterward, guests made their way deeper into the Blue Ridge Mountains to celebrate at a cozy AirBnB. The reception space was filled with warm Christmas details, glowing trees, and soft lighting. It made for the most romantic and loving atmosphere. The intimate gathering was the perfect ending to a day centered on love, faith, and togetherness.

Thank you, Deanna and Michael, for allowing me to capture you beautiful The Cliffs at Glassy Chapel Wedding. It was an honor to be a part of it.
